The Technology of Transportation In the earliest days of human existence, the need to convey products and people from point A to point B was realized. As time went by and human needs increased and became more complex, so did the forms of transportation. This blog will be dedicated to the evolution of the “Technology of Transportation”. Please feel free to embark on this fascinating journey!
It may be bigger than I think but, comee onnn, lets be realistic. Do you think your going to see a smart car driving around with 15 people inside, while the driver is getting kicked in the head by the person in the back. I'm all about saving the environment and buying Smart Cars, but I think they should take a different route when marketing their product.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it. I can't imagine this being safe, though. I highly doubt there are seatbelts to accomodate all those people. Saving the environment is one thing, but there are risks that have to be taken into consideration.
ReplyDeleteWhat were they trying to prove? The car is still small!!!!!! Most people are taller then the car and you could probably fit two of them in the same parking spot. I think the car is strange but good economically and they say its a really a safe car too??? Don't know if i'd wanna be the person testing that out.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure exactly what they're trying to do here... 15 incredibly uncomfortable people doesn't really mean much..
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe what I saw. This cannot be safe and safety should be a priority. These are good to protect our environment but what about our lives?
ReplyDeletei want to see them put that many people in one of those and drive it at the sametime. that would be funny, little hazzardous but funny
ReplyDeleteThe only way I would have believed that 15 people would have fit into a smart car if they were midgets. Having seen this video I sit corrected. But I still think Smart Cars look like clown cars. Car that are environmentally friendly don’t have to look like this. I know they are popular in Europe but I’ve alone seen a few there. The type of people who would drive a smart car seem like the type of people that would shop at Ikea. There is nothing wrong with these two activates separately but put together could be disastrous. Imagine yourself on 95 behind a Smart Car that just came from the South Philly Ikea, with all that flatly packaged particle board furnature bungee corded to the roof. YIKES!
ReplyDeleteI was always for the smart cars and having 15 people in it is a bit hard to believe. But in fact that they are more then what they seem. I recently saw a study done by some one as to what happened when the car was in an accident at around 70mph and they took a regular hyndai to compare. The results were not that different. The hyndais is a bigger car but bent like a toothpick where as the smart car has a tough shell.
ReplyDeleteThis video proves nothing. The world record for fitting people into a phone booth is more than that. Does that make it comfortable or reasonable? No. How many do you think they could get in a Denali or Escalade?
ReplyDeleteSmart cars actually provide more room for driver and passanger than most sedans on the road today. until you sit inside one, you shouldnt judge it. I was surprised myself when I saw an incredibly large man get into one comfortably. Granted, there is no storage space and not much for any other passangers, this car still makes sense for alot of people. I like them, if only we didnt have 3 ton gas guzzlers on the road with drivers that arent afraid to run you over, they would be safe.
